Meet John Hinchey

John Hinchey is a producer, composer, arranger and trombonist based in Nashville, Tennessee. Since graduation from Towson University, where he studied with jazz composer Hank Levy, John has had an eclectic career in many facets of the music and entertainment industry.

He has a long association with the cruise ship and theme entertainment industries as an arranger, music director and music producer for clients including Norwegian Cruise Lines, Royal Caribbean, Crystal, Costa, Azumara, Paramount Theme Parks LEGOLAND, Hershey Park and more.

He has also arranged for contemporary music and Broadway artists including Martina McBride, Dave Stewart, Joss Stone, Sting, Lee Ann Womack, Rob Evan, Marcus Scott, Earl Klugh, Nick D’Virgilio, Big Big Train, the Broadway show “Rocktopia” and others.

He is recognized as a Sibelius expert in Sibelius notation software and has done many projects as a copyist and music preparer for clients including David Foster, Sting, Andrea Bocelli, Rock Wentworth, Jason Moran, Kip Winger, Jake Shimabuko, Alan Parsons and others.

As a trombonist in addition to his studio work, his touring credits include Martina McBride, Kirk Franklin, A Chorus Line, and Bob Fosse’s Dancin’.

He’s played in the house band for shows including CMA Awards, Americana Music Awards, The Stella Awards, Musician’s Hall of Fame induction, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame American Master’s Awards, The TV show “Nashville” and more.

John is on the board of directors of ASMAC (The American Society of Music Arrangers and Composers).
